200g caster sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla seeds
3 whole eggs
1,5 teaspoons of baking powder (or bicarbonate)
15cl whole single cream (30% fat)
5cl 2% milk
3 tablespoons of matcha green tea
3 tablespoons of powedered bitter cocoa
Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F). Grease and flour the cake pan. Melt the butter. Inside the mixer's bowl, whisk the butter and sugar together. Leave the butter to cool for about fifteen minutes. Add the vanilla seeds, then the eggs one by one and eventually the cream and milk. After mixing it to the baking powder (or bicarbonate), add the flour to the blend progressively. Pour half of the pastry into another bowl. Add the matcha tea to the first half of it, and the chocolate to the second one. Pour both of the pastries by alternating the layers in order to create the marble effect. Put it in the oven for 45 to 60 minutes at 180°C (356°F). Check the cooking using the tip of a knife and leave the cake to cool on an oven rack. Remove the cake from the pan when it is lukewarm.
